Abstract

<p>This module outlines some of the basic concepts in general chemistry. Typically it deals with chemical reactions and the energy changes that accompany such reactions. The module will therefore focus on the rates of chemical reactions,(ie how fast a reaction takes place) and the factors that affect reaction rates. Also the types and properties of solutions will be presented, concentrating mainly on intermolecular forces in solubility and their concentration units.
