The AVU International Conference: an opportunity for exploring the impact of ICTs and open, distance and e-learning on access to quality and equitable education in Africa
MetadataShow full item record
The potential of ICTs and open, distance and eLearning (ODeL) in addressing issues of access, equity and quality throughout the education and training system in Africa is still being explored both at the technical/practical and policy levels. However, research on and evaluation of the impact of ODeL policies and practices have very little space where they can be presented, discussed and capitalized on by key stakeholders such as researchers, policymakers and practitioners. In its bid to foster this interaction, AVU has instituted since 2013 an International Conference that brings together these stakeholders to discuss important ODeL thematic areas and make sense of the challenges and explore emerging opportunities afforded by ICTs and ODeL.
